Lots a Coffee

I'm a coffee drinker especially when its cold outside and although the sun has been shining for the past few days its only gotten into the high 40's so I enjoy my coffee and keep my hands warm. Hope your keeping warm, I have crocus out in the flowerbed that are 6 inches tall and ready to bloom so the beautiful signs of spring are around. Have a good weekend!

Time on my hands

Yep I have way to much time on my hands and the idea struck me on Sunday so I started my project hope you enjoy it as much as I did making it. I used SU Saddle Stitch Book that I got years ago and just found the package the other day when I was searching for my tax forms. I love the SEI Madeline DSP so I used it, the SU new border punch, Basic Grey Magnetic snaps and tons of ribbon and fibers (remember when fiber was the thing to use?)

I don't have a husband but just put it in the dedication cause it sounded cute like everyone does. I typed the dedication on the computer then used Pink Magic Mesh and a butterfly sticker.
Page 2 is the Table of Contents I layered it on top of SEI Madeline DSP, inked the edges and added a flower sticker. I forgot to mention I hand sewed the book.
Page 3 is the total look for Tess from top, slacks & tote complete with gems and or fun fur (Liquid Applique) or white pearls.
Or maybe a striped suit with matching tote. I love the white slacks with searing blue blouse and rope handles on the matching blue tote. But my fav is the classic red blouse, black slacks and polka dot black tote with red rose accent.
Page 5 is Tess's tops, blouses or shirts whatever your preference and she has three quarter sleeves, short sleeves and typical long sleeves, WOW.
Page 6: Well now SU has the classic black apron but with Tess well she not just classic she's "Style n" with coordinating aprons and accessories.

Page 7: Every girl needs slacks, lots and lots of slacks.

Page 8: Notice that there is a blue pair of slacks that match that beautiful searing blue blouse and tote. So many choices so little time and room to express all Tess's ideas and suggestions.
Page 9: This is what started it all designing the totes. Open your mind to rope handles, braided handles, leather handles, the ideas are endless.
Page 10: All the colors and the accents how about a black crinkled leather in the lower right corner. Pink Pearls, Pink fun fur, Red rose exciting.
Page 11: Tess wanted to highlight all the wonderful tools she uses while she is creating or designing cards and other cute ideas.
And how can you do anything without the INK, come on could we have fun with this set if SU would do an accessories set with other cute stuff!
Now to the best part of all the 'Thank you' hidden in the envelope and if only you could figure out her email address.................
Page 14: Tess and plaid pants well nows your chance to comment. I had so much fun making this book for Tess and my friends, my mind is already working on Tess's next mini book after all this was her debut.
Love havin fun like this and I so hope that all of you enjoyed this as much as I enjoyed making it. Oh yes her email is tizzytessdesigns@yahoo.com
God Bless.

Monday - What a day!

Today was not a good day, matter of fact I'm in a jam because I went through all my stuff downstairs today looking for that 2008 Tax return. Well I got a bunch of stuff sorted and combine totes, but no tax return. So after all that I had to do something to take my mind off the whole thing needless to say I sat down in my Studio and whipped out these to little cards.
So quick so easy I stamped the bird added a verse glued a feather on the card and they are ready to go. You know I send between 50-100 cards to Operation Write Home every month. These two will make the cut to go in the Priority Mail box I send. But then I started another project but I'm not going to tell you about it until I'm finished, all I'll tell you is its not a card!

Sunday - A day of rest?

Today I set out to do my taxes, well that didn't happen but I clean out 9 drawers, went in the crawl space and dug though a ton of stuff in there. I am a super organized person each year I finish my taxes I file the taxes in my brief case and I'm done. Well I can't find where I put the briefcase and I must have open 6 plastic totes, my Creative Memories large tote and with all that done I didn't find my Zyron 510 nor my taxes. I have two huge plastic bags full of papers to shred and after all that work I am frustrated and I still haven't done my taxes.

So after I put my boneless ribs and potatoes in the oven I went downstairs and made a card with scraps, pretty good huh? I used SU card stock and the embossed cuttlebug flowers were in my scrap pile so I put pearls on them colored a butterfly and I think it turned out pretty good.
I still didn't get my taxes done nor did I find where I put the 2008 tax duplicate. Now I guess since Sunday is a day of rest and I went ape cleaning my Studio and crawl space I deserve not to find them but trust me I'll be at it again starting around 10 AM tomorrow.
Hope your weekend was great!
God Bless,

Easter Cards

I love this card it is so pretty, sorry but I think it is so different. I used a Martha Stewart border punch and all the SU yellow card stock. I just cut 2 inch strips of cs then punched them layered them and on the last layer or the bottom of the card I used a full size 4 1/4 X 5 1/2 yellow to match the whole card and cover up all the 2 inch pieces inside the card. The stamp set is a new set from the SU mini I stamped it on Whisper White then colored with Copic's and layered it on Old Olive card stock.
The second card is the same image but with different card stock and DSP. It's all SU product and I had fun making both cards then I went and sorted through all my stamp CD's and weeded out many that I won't ever use again. I'll sell them for little or nothing when I find time to post them.
Ok everyone have a great weekend and remember I think of you and pray for you all daily.
God Bless,

Tote-ally Tess one more time

I know I know your saying not again please Jeanine get a life! But look what I did......I had to do a close up of Tess's Tote isn't it so cute?
Yep I used Liquid Applicate to her tote then used my heat gun to puff it up. I love it and it sure adds dimension to the card. I used SU Regal Rose for my basic card, chocolate chip and I colored Tess with Copic's.
I also used the Circle of Friendship stamp set to add the button. I used rick rack, Basic Grey, Bittersweet DSP and some Paper Studio, Coco & Pink. A Martha Stewart butterfly punch with mini gems.

This last one I got the idea from SCS, I used Martha Stewarts 1" circle punch and a Creative Memories 1 1/2" punch. I colored Tess and all her tools with Copic's used Basic Grey Bittersweet and Pretty in Pink from SU.
That's it I put the Tote-ally Tess and her toys away, I'll do something else for a while. Actually I joined 2 ATC swaps today and I have to get busy and send 50 cards to Operation Write Home. I promise to be good and even do some Easter cards.
God Bless,
Jeanine

Nature Silhoutte

Well I'm always looking for a masculine card so I made my own background paper for both of these cards. I used SU Black and Chocolate Chip and Very Vanilla. The ribbon is from Walmart or Michael's and the photo corners are from Cyberworld, but my brother doesn't know the difference so he got the Moose card for no reason just sisterly love.
Well I wonder when PCH will be coming by to give me my money, I've signed in everyday to get entered in the drawing, wish me luck!!!

Crazy for Tess

Well today I spent the day playing with clothes cutting out accessories and coloring with my Copic's. It was like I went back to my childhood where I cut out my paperdolls and played with them all afternoon. So here's what I did....I used the SU Tote-ally Tess Stamp Set from SU, I colored all the goodies with Copics, I used Michael's ribbon and Pretty Paislee DSP, oh and I used the Stamper stamp from SU Circle of Friendship.
My next Tote-ally Tess card is using my card stock is all SU except the DSP. I pulled out all kinds of goodies the ribbon is shining red but I don't have a name for it. I used Rose Red card stock with Going Grey then I used DSP from Basic Grey Bittersweet. I love pink so this is fun again I used SU card stock, a Martha Stewart border punch the ribbon I love and on this card it looks like paper but its my fav color combo pink, brown, white.

Last but not least is my Hunter Green card stock with the new SU border and corner punch. As you can tell I had to cut or cover all the mistakes. It isn't the easiest punch set to use. I used plain white paper and used a heart gem to put on her tote. I love the little folders and all of her accessories. I had a fun time today and hope all the girls that receive these card enjoy them as much as I enjoyed making them.
Have a wonderful evening and know that you're in my thoughts and prayers always. God Bless.

It's Snowing 2 inches and counting!

Isn't this a pretty card? I have Morning Glory's growing in my planter at the mail box, they are so beautiful in July and August I had to recreate them. It's been snowing since 2 PM today so guess who has been making cards all afternoon. Yep that would be me and I even had time clean up some counter space and purge some scraps. Yep, I even made a Easter card, this one is SU card stock with a Whipper Snapper image. I colored the image with Copic's and even pulled out the brayer to add a little pizazz.

I love the verse I put inside 'Lessons I learned from the Easter Bunny'. What can I say, days like today are cold, fun and busy work but I love working with paper and creating all kinds of fun things.
Everyone have a great weekend.
God Bless,
Jeanine

It's Official

Actually 'It's Official' is next I wanted to post this beautiful card I received a few weeks ago by my friend Debi. It's an easel card and I love it she was the one that inspired me to make the two easel cards that I did. I love what Debi did with the paper piecing and frame. Thank you Debi you've had it rough lately, you & your husband are in my prayers.

OK now today was the day I filed for Social Security to start in April 2010. Yep I could have been getting it before this but I thought I would wait until I was 65, then I realized Uncle Sam changed the rules and so I filed and that will help me realize my dreams when the time comes for me to pack my my RV and journey around the U.S.A. I'm really sic'd and think this is a good move on my part.
So I did very little crafting today but spent a few hours researching and then decided it was the thing to do. I'll get back into card making tomorrow since you can't go anywhere because the weather is just horrible, at least I don't have snow. I feel so sorry for all those people with 3 feet of snow and no electricity. Please stay warm and take care.
God Bless,
Jeanine

Coffee Time

Well I'm a coffee freak, I probably drink 5-6 cups a day if not more on dark cold rainy days. So I got into the coffee thing today and just couldn't stop making these coffee cards. This first one is a OCL stamp set that I won on their blog hop its called Fueled by Caffeine. I used Copics to color everything, SU card stock and Making Memories DSP, MS 1" circle punch for the salutation.
The second card was made with SU card stock, New Jersey DSP, some ribbon from Ribbon Mania, a gold brad and I wish I knew where the cup came from I think its a Digital Image but anyway I used some puff stuff for the foam on the cups love that stuff.
This card was made with the same identical paper and card stock, ribbon and everything on this card except I used a larger coffee cup.

I love love love this card its Cocoa the mouse from SNS digi stamps and it looks like their doing a series of Cocoa images woo hoo. I used Making Memories DSP and SU (last year) In Color. I used the new SU border punch that's a SAB right now for the inside with corresponding card stock. It was a fun day and I must of had 5 full hours just to stamp and play and it felt good. Mom was watching bowling reruns on TV so she left me alone almost the whole day.
Have a good week ladies.
God Bless,
Jeanine

SU Playday

I have been waiting a whole month for this SU stamp set 'Totally Tess' and I couldn't wait to get home last night and set it up so I could use it. I doubt you can see but I paper pieced Tess's shirt and pants then I used embroidery thread for the handles on the tote bag, and actually used SU pens to color.........NOT ever again I am super spoiled with Copic's. This is a fun stamp set to send cards to other stampers with, I used Basic Grey DSP and SU white for the base. My camera is having one of those days and decided not to take a good picture after I took this birdhouse picture. Yesterday was SU play day and I look forward to these days so much, its my only chance to get out and be with other stampers. Brenda had four really cute projects set out for us, First was a sucker holder made out of 4 heart punches , second was a tutorial about the new border and corner punches which I bought but I am very disappointed in them. I spent over 2 hours today trying to make a square or rectangle and none of them came out right. I started out on typing paper but the punch ate the paper every punch so I had to switch to DSP well it did not eat the paper but I never did get four good looking sides. I'm still wagering if I will send them back, nothing should be that infuriating.
I'm sorry I haven't been around lately I have been fighting with myself over the care of my mother. I've been everywhere and talked to dozens of caregivers, I've seen many nursing homes, assisted living centers, care homes and interviewed caregivers who come into your home to care for your elder. I thought I had made my decision I didn't care Mom was wearing me down and I couldn't take it anymore she was going to a home. Then I started my search and now besides the cost I have my doubts as to what to do. Thanks to a counselor from 'A Place for Mom' I have been able to talk it out with her and she makes me feel like I'm not the bad daughter. She has told me I'm not alone and actually introduced me to others that are in the same boat as me. Well here I am still in my silent world trying to do the right thing for Mom.
Hope your weekend was wonderful.
God Bless,
Jeanine

Magnolia Madness Ends

I have finished the Magnolia Images I promised for my friend in Virginia. I am ready to mail them off but today brings freezing rain to our cold countryside so I'm not venturing out package will have to wait.
If you have any questions about the images or the makings of the cards please feel free to contact me at AZGramTN@bellsouth.net I would take the time to post all of the stuff that I used to make the cards but it doesn't appear that anyone is looking so due to depression and this dreary weather I'll skip that part.

I sure hope this week clears up pretty soon and things start looking better because weather like this could bring dis pare to a lot of people. I can't image living in Portland or Seattle where it rains 80% of the time, oh don't get me wrong I love rain but after having it for the past few weeks I'm tired of it and request it be moving on.

Now if I had my RV I would just jump in it and drive to the sunshine and stay until I got tired of it and head else where. That is my plan, I want to sell this house and 75% of everything in it store the rest in a storage unit and then go. I have a carpenter that is going to customize the RV for my stamping goodies and the rest will either be sold or stored. Now to just get moving and have some yard sales and sell on www.onlineauction.com
Well that is my big plan so guess I'll head down to the studio and get to work.
God Bless,
Jeanine
